The Local Police of Arrecife has dismantled a presumed crack house that was used for dealing with vehicles. According to the City Council, several residents of the Altavista neighborhood had warned that this space had become a hotbed of insecurity with the constant presence of people consuming narcotic substances.

According to the police report communicated by the council, “the information gathered revealed the habitual presence of various people with drug addiction, some of whom were sleeping in vehicles, also representing a danger to the area.”

In addition, residents warned about possible behaviors related to the consumption and alleged buying and selling of narcotic substances, which generated insecurity among residents in the Altavista neighborhood.

The Local Police established a preventive deployment by agents of the Local Police of Arrecife, carried out recently, with several police vehicles. This activation allowed for the collection and analysis of information related to the facts reported by residents.

Even, collaboration was requested from the National Police Corps, carried out on June 11, 2026, in order to inform them of the available information regarding possible illicit activities related to narcotic substances and to enable coordination between both police forces.

The police report on this intervention emphasizes “the police action carried out allowed the problem to be addressed from an integral and coordinated perspective, combining measures of citizen security, administrative police, prevention, cleaning of the space, and attention to drug addicts.”
