The lifeless body of a man, of Belgian nationality, has been found floating in the sea, in the waters of the Marina Lanzarote marina. According to La Voz de Lanzarote, the National Police have already opened an investigation to clarify the causes of death, although, according to sources close to the investigation, everything points to an accidental death.
It was at 11:22 a.m. when a call from personnel at the Arrecife marina alerted the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands, reporting that a person was floating in the sea, in the area of pontoons.
Given this, 112 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources, sending a medicalized ambulance from the SUC to the scene, whose personnel confirmed the death of the affected person.
Also involved were members of the National Police and the Civil Guard, who were in charge of guarding the deceased until the arrival of the judicial authority and instructed the corresponding proceedings.
