A 60-year-old woman had to be rescued this Wednesday, February 4, after suffering a fall in the Caldera Blanca area, in the municipality of Tinajo, according to the Canary Islands Government Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2
The incident occurred around 3:52 PM, at which time the CECOES received the alert and immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Personnel from the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote, a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), and the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) were dispatched to the sceneGiven the orography of the terrain and the injury the affected person presented, rescue by land proved unfeasible, so the GES rescuers proceeded with her aerial evacuation.
