Corinna's family identifies her body, which appeared this Monday in the sea

The family of Corinna U., who disappeared last Wednesday in the El Charco del Palo area, has identified her body, which appeared this Monday near Papagayo, in Punta Gorda. The body was found by a fisherman in the area, and later rescued by the Civil Guard patrol boat and taken to Puerto Naos.

In addition to being examined by the forensic doctor, the victim's family has also already identified the body, confirming the worst of omens. Since the body was found on Monday morning, everything pointed to it being the woman who disappeared last Wednesday, as confirmed by the Security and Emergency Consortium. In fact, the description matched Corinna's and, in addition, due to the sea currents, it was estimated that the body could have moved towards the south of the island.

On the afternoon of this same Sunday, the security and emergency services had left the search for Corinna U. in the hands of the judicial police of the Civil Guard. Although from the beginning the hypothesis that she had suffered an accident at sea was considered, during these days no trace of her had been found, and the days that had passed made us think that the body should have already surfaced in case of having died in the water.

However, her body has finally been located by a fisherman, five days after her disappearance.

Oktoberfest Organizer

Corinna, 42, was a native of Austria, but resided in Playa Honda with her family. This same year, she was in charge of organizing the first Oktoberfest in Puerto del Carmen, bringing the traditional German beer festival to the island. The event aimed to raise funds for the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer's Patients and other dementias of Lanzarote (AFA Lanzarote).
