The court of instruction number 4 of the Arrecife Court has agreed to grant provisional release to the two men, one 24 and the other 50 years old, who got into a fight in broad daylight in Playa Blanca, Yaiza.
The events took place on November 1 and images of this brawl were later disseminated. The judicial authority on duty at the time of the events took statements this Wednesday from the two men, who were arrested last Tuesday.
Pending the final medical reports that determine the extent of the assaults in order to determine their criminal classification, the court has agreed to grant them provisional release as perpetrators of a crime of assault and impose a restraining order on both.
According to what La Voz has learned, the police investigation was carried out in collaboration between the Local Police of Yaiza and Civil Guard agents. Both forces intervened after being informed of a fight that occurred on Avenida de Papagayo, in the aforementioned coastal town.
The Local Police of Yaiza handed over to the Civil Guard agents the images that capture the moments before they started punching each other. In them, it is observed how the 50-year-old man A.P.S.L. drives along the avenue and sees the 24-year-old J.S.P.O. At that moment, he parks in the middle of the road and gets out of the vehicle holding a stick with a rake.
"Nothing is going to happen, I will take justice into my own hands," said the 50-year-old detainee. Subsequently, both got into a fight, which ended with the older man lying on the ground and the younger man punching him several times in the head.
Both were arrested as alleged perpetrators of a less serious crime of assault, to which is added that the police attribute to A.P.S.L. a less serious crime of threats. However, the court has only maintained the crime of assault.
