The Civil Guard Headquarters has suspended from his duties for four days the head of security of the Civil Guard at the César Manrique Airport in Lanzarote for sneaking onto a flight with boarding already closed. This has been confirmed to La Voz by sources from the Civil Guard.

As reported in exclusive by this media outlet, last Friday, May 16, an altercation occurred on a flight of the company Ryanair, which was departing from Lanzarote to the city of Malaga. Specifically, flight FR6771 was scheduled to leave the island at 6:55 p.m., but ended up taking off at 7:18 p.m. According to the air registry, the company closed boarding twenty minutes after the scheduled time.

For the moment, the Civil Guard is assessing the possibility of applying other measures. The sanctioned agent is the sergeant of the Civil Guard in Lanzarote, a position specific to the non-commissioned officer rank. Meanwhile, after several attempts by this editorial team, the airline has declined to respond if it has taken any action against this passenger.

According to testimonies gathered by this media outlet, the agent, dressed in civilian clothes, "tried to access the flight boarding, but it was already closed, so he used his card" as an airport employee "to open the security door" from where the plane is boarded. In this attempt to access the aircraft, he allegedly assaulted a company worker, whom he allegedly pushed, while shouting through the airport.

According to another testimony, the now temporarily suspended agent crossed the security door and sneaked onto the runway. At that moment, the crew called the Civil Guard to request his eviction. An agent of the Civil Guard and two airport security agents went to the scene, as reported by the Unified Association of the Civil Guard (AUGC) in a press release.

Apparently, the man was on duty at the Airport at the time of the incident, but he had this Ryanair flight to Malaga. In fact, "one of the workers tried to contact him about an eviction at the airport itself, but it turns out that he himself was causing the problem," says another testimony.
