The Civil Guard of San Bartolomé arrested two individuals on February 14 and seized a significant amount of narcotics, dismantling a drug sales point in the town of Playa Honda, within the framework of operation “LA CURIOSA.”
After an exhaustive investigation, the agents identified a private home as a suspected distribution center for hashish. The suspicions were based on the constant flow of people accessing the home, as well as the transactions observed in the vicinity, including an area near a children's park.
Once judicial authorization was granted for the entry and search of the property, the operation resulted in the seizure of 3,450 grams of hashish, as well as precision scales and various utensils intended for the preparation and distribution of the drug. In addition, as a result of the intervention, two people were arrested under the alleged authorship of a crime against public health.
The Civil Guard has highlighted the importance of this operation for citizen security. The dismantling of this sales point not only interrupts the supply of illegal substances, but also represents a significant improvement in the safety of residents, eliminating the constant traffic of buyers that generated a perception of insecurity among residents.
This police action reaffirms the commitment of the security forces in the fight against drug trafficking and their determination to guarantee the well-being of the community in Lanzarote.
The detainees, along with the proceedings instructed for this purpose, were placed at the disposal of the Duty Court of Arrecife.
