Emergency services have found this Monday morning the lifeless body of the fisherman who disappeared in the area of the Pechiguera Lighthouse, in Playa Blanca, as the manager of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, Enrique Espinosa, has informed La Voz.
At 10:00 a.m. the search for this man, who was destabilized by a wave while fishing on Sunday with a companion, was resumed. A day after his disappearance, and minutes after resuming the search, the divers found the body of this man.
Around 11:00 a.m., the Salvamar boat has transferred the lifeless body of this fisherman, a native of Poland, to the Marina Rubicón port, where the arrival of the judicial authority is expected. Six divers, three from the Civil Guard, a firefighter, an emergency agent and a member of Civil Protection have worked in this operation, according to Enrique Espinosa.
The deceased was 37 years old and worked in a bar in Puerto del Carmen. His companion told the emergency services how this fisherman desperately tried to return to the shore when a wave dragged him. Finally he said: "I can't take it anymore" and disappeared into the sea.
