The Local Police of San Bartolomé and the Guardia Civil of Lanzarote seized on May 13 a total of 118 marijuana plants and one kilogram of cannabis sativa, also known as hemp, distributed in different containers in an abandoned house in the scattered settlements of Güime, in San Bartolomé.

As reported by the Local Police Force of San Bartolomé in a statement this Wednesday, the events took place exactly one week ago after 3:00 p.m., although La Voz had already advanced some details.

The local police officers were alerted by a disoccupation company, which had been observing the house where they were going to carry out "a supposed disoccupation," according to the terms used in the statement. After going to the scene, a pair of Local Police officers were able to verify the existence of this marijuana plantation inside.

After informing the agents of the San Bartolomé Guardia Civil Post, the civil guards entered the home, after several witnesses stated that nobody lived in the house.

Upon entering, the agents observed plants in different stages of growth and maturation in practically all the rooms of the house. Specifically, it was a cultivation of Cannabis Sativa (marijuana), as well as abundant material related to the cultivation and maintenance of said plants, such as pots, bags of soil and substrate, fertilizers, manures, phytosanitary products, gardening tools and implements, and various material for irrigation and care of the plantation.

With the collaboration of the Investigation Unit of the Guardia Civil Post, they proceeded to seize the plants for subsequent analysis and placement at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
