The Teguise City Council closed Playa Bastián to swimming "due to possible contamination" this Saturday, October 31, after a large spill was detected in its waters.
As indicated by the City Council to La Voz, it has been confirmed that the spill does not come from the sanitation network and the origin, which could be a boat, is still being sought.
This is not the first time that the beaches of Costa Teguise have had to be closed to swimming due to the presence of spills, which are more common when it rains and causes the tourist town's sewers to overflow.
