A new sinkhole has opened in the early hours of this Wednesday in Argana Alta. Specifically, the hole has opened at the corner between Tenderete street and Tajaraste street

The Emergency services were activated in the early hours of this Wednesday, around 03:00 in the morning, as confirmed to La Voz by sources from the City Council of Arrecife. Arrecife Local Police moved to the scene to cordon off the area.

Meanwhile, on the morning of this Wednesday, workers urged by the Water Consortium and by Canal Management have been moved to repair the road

The collapse of the road has occurred due to the sanitation network that propels the fecal waters from the lower part of the city to the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) of Montaña Mina.

This network, made of fiber, is around 20 years old and it is not the first time it has suffered a break of these characteristics. For example, last September the roadway collapsed between Tajaraste and Campoamor streets, producing a two-meter diameter hole.
