Seriously injured a boy after suffering a kitesurfing accident in Lanzarote

A 17-year-old young man has been seriously injured after suffering a fall from height while practicing Kitesurfing on Famara Beach. The accident took place around 6:34 PM this Tuesday, August 4.

After being alerted by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES), firefighters, two basic life support ambulances from the Canary Emergency Service, a medicalized helicopter, and Local Police officers were dispatched.

Emergency and rescue personnel rescued the athlete and evacuated him to the location where the medical resources were stationed.

Medical personnel assessed and assisted the affected person who, after being stabilized, was transferred by medicalized helicopter to the airport and from there by ambulance with the medical team to Molina Orosa.

For their part, the Local Police collaborated with the rest of the emergency resources and prepared the relevant reports.
