The operation to search by sea and land will resume first thing this Tuesday morning.

Search operation for a missing person in the north of the island

The search operation for a 60-year-old man who disappeared on Las Cocinitas beach, near Caletón Blanco, has been suspended at nightfall.

It was the man's wife who alerted the authorities after her husband went shellfish gathering "more than three and a half hours ago" (around 1:30 p.m.), assuring that he doesn't normally take that long. The man did not have his cell phone with him and was wearing a dark gray swimsuit and dark navy blue lycra shirt. He was also wearing a kind of apron to pick winkles.

3 rapid intervention vehicles, an ambulance, an emergency truck, an Emerlan drone unit, as well as firefighters, Local Police and Civil Guard have participated in the search operation.

In addition, the GES helicopter and Maritime Rescue will also join this Tuesday.
