A man was assisted this Saturday, December 27, after getting into trouble on a buoy on Las Cucharas beach, in the municipality of Teguise. The alert was received at 4:41 PM, which led to the mobilization of numerous emergency resources.
According to the manager of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, the bather, of foreign nationality, was in apparent state of drunkenness and had climbed onto a buoy without being able to return to the shore initially, creating a risky situation.
The rescue helicopter of the Emergency Group, the Civil Guard, members of the Arrecife Firefighters Consortium, Maritime Rescue, the beach rescue service, and the Local Police were deployed to the area.
Finally, as the manager of the Emergency Consortium explained, the man realized he could touch the bottom in the area and was able to get out of the water on his own, with the help of the beach lifeguards, without needing to be evacuated
