Saturday left crowds of young people and a drinking session with more than 100 vehicles in Arrecife

Although the Local Police carried out several interventions, their presence was not as constant as on Friday night

The first weekend without a curfew in Lanzarote left disparate images. And it is that, although on Friday there were fewer people on the street than on previous weekends, this was not the case on Saturday, where the Local Police had to evict a drinking session of more than 100 vehicles at the Arrecife Fairgrounds.

Also, as La Voz was able to verify, there was a large concentration of young people during the night in the Charco de San Ginés, some of them without masks or smoking and drinking without respecting distances.

In addition, unlike the previous night, where the police presence was constant, this was not the case on Saturday. And it is that, at least from 9:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., no patrols were seen around El Charco, despite the fact that the agglomeration of people was increasing. Neighbors complained about the large number of young people who were concentrated in the corner next to the whale skeleton, also making it difficult to pass.

From the Arrecife City Council they have reported that the Local Police did make several interventions in the Charco de San Ginés. Specifically, they have indicated that the agents intervened in a premises that was selling alcohol to minors and in two other establishments where the tables did not comply with the safety distances.
