A sailboat ran aground this Wednesday morning on El Barranquillo beach. The event took place around 12:00 hours in the town of Puerto del Carmen, according to reports from the Emergency Consortium.
There were three crew members on board who were unharmed in the incident and were assisted on land by Civil Protection. The skipper informed the rescuers that he was heading to El Varadero.
Next, Maritime Rescue ruled out rescue and towing because the skipper himself took charge, who reported that the sailboat's insurance company had activated a company to extract the boat.
