The helicopter Helimer 205 of Salvamento Marítimo has had to rescue the crew member of a vessel who suffered an urgent medical problem on board.
According to Salvamento Marítimo, the Salvamento coordinating center in the province of Las Palmas was in charge of the urgent medical evacuation of a crew member of the merchant vessel.
The crew of the Helimer 205 was in charge of lifting the patient, using the hoisting maneuver and transferred him to the César Manrique Airport of Lanzarote, where he was attended to by the Emergency Coordination Center of the Canary Islands.
It is the ship Esperanza, a vessel 135 meters in length and flagged in the Caribbean country of Antigua and Barbuda, which departed a few days ago from the African port of Gambia and is destined for the port of Algeciras, in the south of the Iberian Peninsula.
