The Local Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife yesterday opened a sanctioning file to the owners of two vehicles that had just arrived at the Port with a total of 15 camels, all destined to participate next Monday in the Three Wise Men parades of the different municipalities of Tenerife.
The agents reported that the animals traveled crowded and tied by the legs and neck, so they could not move. They consider that these conditions can be considered mistreatment, especially when the animals had to endure them during a trip of more than 18 hours by ferry, which departed from Lanzarote, made a stopover in the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and ended yesterday afternoon at the Santa Cruz dock.
