An EasyJet flight covering the route between Nantes and Lanzarote on September 16 was marked by the death of a passenger en route. The event took place in the approach phase to the César Manrique-Lanzarote airport, when the crew detected the emergency and immediately informed the airport authorities.
The aircraft managed to land without incident after the emergency protocols were activated, and the medical services intervened immediately, although they could not save the life of the traveler.
EasyJet confirmed the death in an official statement, in which it highlighted that the crew acted in accordance with the in-flight medical care protocols. The company expressed its condolences to the family and the passenger's environment, whose identity has not been revealed.
The incident caused a significant delay in the return flight to Nantes, which was scheduled to land around 2:45 p.m. and did not do so until after 11:00 p.m., affecting dozens of passengers.
