Police have arrested eleven people for child trafficking in Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, and Madrid after dismantling a group that allegedly facilitated the transfer to France of children and adolescents who arrived by boat on the islands, and who disappeared from their reception centers.
The operation began after the disappearance of thirteen minors from a reception center in Arrecife (Lanzarote) and another from a facility in San Bartolomé de Tirajana (Gran Canaria) was reported between November 2025 and May of this year, according to a statement released this Thursday by the General Directorate of Police.
