A total of nine buses and two vans were incinerated in the fire declared in the early hours of this Tuesday in a warehouse of the company Lanzarote Bus, located on Velacho street, number 19, in Arrecife.

As reported by the Security and Emergency Consortium, the alert was received through CECOES, which alerted of the fire of a bus inside the company's garage. Upon the arrival of the units, the building was completely flooded with smoke and there were already several vehicles burning inside.

The firefighters proceeded to set up several water lines and advanced inside the warehouse until locating the main focus, verifying that the fire affected nine buses and two vans. Due to the magnitude of the service, the collaboration of Parque Sur and the presence of Sierra 1 at the scene was requested.

During the intervention, several drone flights were carried out to monitor the evolution of the fire from the air and evaluate both the damage to the structure and the risk of propagation to the adjacent warehouses. Part of the roof of the warehouse collapsed as a consequence of the fire.

Furthermore, personnel deployed from South Park, with units Bravo 2 and Romeo 2, worked in coordination with Central Park. Unit ECO 3 joined the operation. As a preventive measure, action was taken on the nearby gas station, where, together with the facility's personnel, the closing of valves was proceeded with and the application of water from the rooftop was initiated to protect it from the flames.

The device came to use approximately 14,000 liters of water in the extinguishing and finishing tasks, attacking the fire from different points, including the roof of the gas station and a building located on the west side of the affected warehouse. The National Police verified that the adjacent property was not being affected.

After several hours of work, the fire was stabilized and finally extinguished in its entirety. Once the damage assessment tasks were concluded and the end of the service communicated to CECOES and to the Fire Department Headquarters, the personnel returned to their respective bases.
