A family of tourists was removed on the morning of this Friday from the area of Los Hervideros, in Yaiza, by an Emergency unit to avoid habitual risk situations in this area.
According to the Security and Emergency Consortium, around 10:30 a.m. this Friday, a twelve-year-old boy and his parents were taking photographs next to the cliff. At that moment, they had to be warned and removed from the place.
Just a few weeks ago, the Yaiza Local Police and personnel authorized by the Emergency Consortium had to evacuate this same space due to the strong swell.
Likewise, it should be remembered that this area of the southwest coast of Lanzarote is one of the most dangerous and has claimed several lives in recent years. As you may recall, last January a young tourist died after being dragged by the waves in Los Charcones along with three other friends who were able to get out alive. This is the third victim in the last seven months on the southwest coast.
