The Local Police of Tías arrested a 58-year-old man last week for alleged drug trafficking. The arrested man, according to the City Council, was carrying "a large bag along Avenida de las Playas" with 99 plastic bags with marijuana "for sale in doses."
The events took place when Local Police officers were carrying out a foot patrol service and observed "the suspicious behavior of an individual who got out of a vehicle in the area" and who "was carrying a large bag."
Upon verifying the presence of the local police, the man reacted "with surprise" and acted "suspiciously, returning to the car to re-enter the bag he was carrying", which alerted the agents, who proceeded to check the contents of the bag.
Inside they found a box with 99 plastic bags containing a substance that was apparently marijuana, which was "distributed in doses" for "subsequent individualized sale." In addition, he was carrying money broken down into small amounts folded in different pockets, as well as two mobile phones. The detainee was given the corresponding proceedings that were sent to the Judicial Authority.
