The helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) has joined since noon this Thursday the device to locate the 41-year-old missing man in the area of Camino de Las Rositas, in the north of Lanzarote. This has been reported by the Emergency Consortium.

Emergency services received a call around 11:10 hours through the Guardia Civil, which alerted to the disappearance of Miguel Ángel Gentile, 41 years old and of Uruguayan origin in the town of Ye.

The Emergency Consortium has reported that Gentile's vehicle was found in this parking lot, as well as his mobile phone and personal documentation. The hypothesis that the armed institute is considering is that the car had been at the location since last April 5

It was the father of Miguel Ángel Gentile who reported from Brazil that he knew nothing of his son, since on the island he only has one relative with whom he would not maintain a close relationship.

Once in the area, the emergency teams coordinated with the Guardia Civil and the Policía Local de Haría to organize the search. A drone was deployed to track the area of Camino de las Rositas, while the La Graciosa unit inspected below El Risco. In parallel, officers of the Guardia Civil and the Policía Local carried out foot patrols.

After approximately two hours without results, the Guardia Civil activated its helicopter, named CUCO, which carried out an aerial reconnaissance of the area. Once this intervention was finished, the search efforts resumed with the drone.

The operation was extended until 6:45 p.m., at which point the meteorological conditions, with presence of fog, prevented continuing with the tasks. Finally, the teams collected the material and concluded the service without further developments being recorded.

On the morning of this Thursday, the search has resumed, which is being coordinated by the Civil Guard. In the operation, the Firefighters of Lanzarote and La Graciosa have joined, who will be in charge of searching El Risco beach, as well as Emerlan personnel, who will search El Papelillo, and the Local Police of Haría.

The manager of the Security and Emergencies Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, has explained that for this operation they have had to select  experienced  people because it is a very steep area.
