Firefighters rescued this Thursday, September 10, a kitesurfer who was in distress on the north coast of Lanzarote.
The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. in the town of Punta Mujeres when Emergencias was alerted that an athlete was having problems at sea. The wind and the current prevented him from returning to the coast.
The Emergency Consortium traveled to the scene, launched a rescue jet ski through Punta Mujeres, and proceeded to search. In a few minutes, they found the person sitting on the board, off the coast of La Garita, in Arrieta, and they were in perfect health.
The emergency personnel put the man on the jet ski's rescue board along with the windfoil equipment and took him to the Punta Mujeres ramp.
