Lanzarote's emergency services are considering that the fire in a house in Arrecife was caused by the victim's son.
The events date back to 3:18 p.m. this Tuesday, on Luis Braile Street in the capital of Lanzarote. At that time, firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium rescued a woman who was inside the house.
After helping the woman, they extinguished the fire, which originated on the second floor of the house, and checked the property with her relatives and local police officers. At that moment they discovered that there were two machetes in the room where the flames started.
According to the manager of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, in statements to La Voz, the room belonged to the son of the rescued woman, who was arrested by the Police as the alleged perpetrator of the fire.
