A home has suffered a fire in the coastal town of Playa Honda, in San Bartolomé.
According to what La Voz has been able to ascertain, the incident occurred early Thursday afternoon. The fire started in a home located between Princesa Ico street and Chimidas street in the coastal town.
Sources from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium have indicated that black smoke was protruding from the property, which prompted the call from those who alerted them.
Near the scene of the incident were the Lanzarote Island Council's Public Works counselor, Jacobo Medina (PP), and the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, who, upon noticing what had happened, tried to mitigate the flames with the help of some fire extinguishers.
Fortunately, the home was unoccupied at the time of the incident. Two fire trucks from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, agents of the Guardia Civil, and also officers from the San Bartolomé Local Police were dispatched to the scene.
Everything seems to indicate that the flames started in the home's breaker box.
