REN lifeguards rescued a German tourist this Thursday who was drowning on La Garita beach in Arrieta, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The 67-year-old swimmer presented symptoms of silent drowning, which begin with abrupt movements in the water, so lifeguards immediately took the kayak, approached him, and put the rescue float on him to move him to the shore. After assessing him, he was evacuated by ambulance to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
