A fishing day ended in tragedy this Friday in the Caldera del Agua – Los Cocoteros area, in the municipality of Teguise, when a fisherman was found lifeless after receiving an emergency notice at 11:25 a.m.
The Coordinating Emergency Center immediately activated a rescue device, mobilizing two specialized vehicles, a basic life support ambulance and means of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), Emerlan vehicles. Agents of the Local Police of Teguise, the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium and the Civil Guard also participated in the operation.
Despite the rapid response, the paramedics could only confirm the death of the man, approximately 67 years old and native to Lanzarote, whose body was located in a place with difficult access.
The Civil Guard activated the corresponding judicial protocol, and, in collaboration with the intervening services, proceeded to transfer the body to an accessible area for its subsequent identification and legal procedures. The intervention was completed at 12:40 p.m.
