Personnel from the Consortium for Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote and La Graciosa rescued a parrot trapped in a home affected by a fire in the Teseguite area, on the LZ-1 road, about 500 meters from Tahíche, on Thursday night.

The alert was received at 11:00 PM through the CECOES, which reported a fire outside a home. Firefighters responded with a Light Urban Pump and a Heavy Tanker Pump, finding Local Police officers already at the scene, followed shortly by Civil Guard personnel.

After an initial inspection, firefighters determined that the fire affected various belongings stored outside, including generator sets, bottles, and other materials. The flames also reached the entrance door of the home and a bedroom window.

The personnel proceeded to control and extinguish the fire by applying water and subsequently entered the property to check if the fire had spread. During the intervention, they located a parrot inside the home, which was rescued from the toxic environment created by the smoke and handed over to its owner.

Once the presence of people in the property was ruled out and the absence of fire spread to the interior of the home was confirmed, firefighters carried out ventilation work with electric fans and completed the extinguishing and cooling of the affected area by applying water with additive.

However, the intervention resulted in a negative outcome for several animals on the property. Emergency services confirmed the deaths of two cats, as well as several birds, including doves and chickens.

Finally, firefighters verified that there was no risk of reignition or spread and informed the owner that the environmental conditions of the home were not suitable for keeping animals inside immediately.

Fire in the electrical panel of the H10 Rubicón Palace Hotel

Firefighters also had to intervene during the night in a fire that broke out in the facilities of the H10 Rubicón Palace Hotel, in Playa Blanca. The alert was received through the CECOES 1-1-2, which mobilized emergency services to the tourist establishment.

Upon their arrival, the personnel located the source of the fire in the general electrical panel located in the hotel's maintenance area. The rapid action allowed the fire to be extinguished using specific extinguishing agents for electrical installations, preventing its spread to other areas of the complex.

Once the flames were controlled, the firefighters carried out ventilation work to eliminate the smoke and gases generated by the combustion that had affected rooms near the electrical room.

After verifying that there were no risks to guests, workers, or the facilities, the intervention was declared concluded. Personnel from the Fire Department, Local Police, Civil Guard, and the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) participated in the operation.

The incident resulted in no personal injuries.
