A fire declared on the morning of this Saturday, February 14, in a dwelling located on Tarragona street in Arrecife has resulted in no injuries, according to the Security and Emergency Consortium.
The notice was received through the CECOES around 10:25 AM, alerting to a fire in a property located on the first floor of a residential building. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene, who upon arrival found agents from the Local Police and the National Police.
The Local Police reported that the dwelling was already evacuated and that the fire affected a mattress in one of the rooms. Likewise, a basic life support (BLS) ambulance attended the service as a precaution.
The officers proceeded to install an electric fan with the objective of avoiding the spread of smoke to the rest of the dwelling. Subsequently, they accessed the affected room to extinguish the fire and remove the burning mattress from inside the property.
Once the dwelling was ventilated, the tenants were provided with pertinent instructions, authorizing their return to the home after verifying its safety.
