Firefighters extinguished a fire that originated in a home on Blas Cabrera Topham street, in Arrecife, in the early hours of this morning, according to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium.
After the alert at around 00:41, the personnel quickly moved to the scene due to the possibility of people being inside.
Upon arriving at the area, Local Police officers had already closed the road to facilitate access for emergency services. National Police officers and a SUC ambulance also moved to the scene.
Firefighters searched the home to check if there were people inside, but did not locate anyone. After that, the firefighters began the extinguishing efforts and proceeded to ventilate the home using positive pressure, for which they opened the access door to the roof and the windows of the home, facilitating the evacuation of smoke.
Later, they confirmed that several people who were inside the home were able to leave on their own before the intervention of the personnel.
Once the home was ventilated and the temperature inside reduced, they carried out a new inspection of all the rooms, confirming that there were no active fires or people inside.
