A fire outbreak inside a home located on Risco Prieto street, in the town of Playa Quemada (Yaiza), forced the intervention of the Security and Emergencies Consortium this past Friday,
The alert was activated by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) at 08:19 hours, at which time the South Park units (Bravo 4 and Lima 0) were dispatched to the area.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that the fire was located in the bathroom of the home and that its origin was in a washing machine. The personnel immediately proceeded to extinguish the flames using atomized water. Subsequently, ventilation work was carried out to evacuate the accumulated smoke in the building.
During the operation, and at the request of the Police, firefighters went to inspect an adjacent home to rescue a neighbor's dog, as it was feared that the animal might have been trapped by the smoke. However, the pet managed to get out on its own without the need to use the evacuation fan.
After securing the area, removing the burnt washing machine to the outside, and carrying out a final inspection of the property to rule out possible risks, the firefighters concluded the service and returned to their base.
