The Civil Guard has arrested an individual for committing serious crimes of sexual abuse and child corruption, posing as a sports agent.

The investigation, dubbed "Fake manager", has identified 61 victims, all of them minors, who had not filed a formal complaint before. In some cases, the now-arrested individual even maintained intimate relationships with some victims.

The operation began following the testimony of one of the victims, who, with psychological support, revealed the abuses suffered in December 2024. This initial testimony proved decisive, given that none of the other victims had previously reported anything. From that moment on, and after gathering the first indications of the events in March 2025, the corresponding actions were initiated to clarify what had happened.

The success of the investigation was based on the meticulous analysis of the content of the mobile phone seized from the detainee and on obtaining multiple statements from both victims and witnesses

A planned and structured modus operandi

The alleged perpetrator, identified among minors by a nickname, employed a highly planned and structured method of operation. He operated in the digital environment, as is common for online sexual predators, using emotional manipulation techniques to obtain sexual content and facilitate in-person encounters, which occurred on several occasions

The detainee combined two particularly effective methods of deception. On the one hand, he used his identity as a supposed sports manager, presenting himself as a professional with contacts and offering minors false promotion opportunities: tryouts at high-performance clubs, inclusion in professional databases, or dissemination of their profiles on specialized social media.

These promises became an instrument of manipulation to generate a debt of gratitude that resulted in the obtaining of favors of a sexual nature, including the request for pornographic material or the arrangement of intimate encounters.

Several false identities

On the other hand, he used fake female identities to broaden his reach and reduce young people's suspicions. Through these social media profiles, he gradually introduced conversations of a sexual nature, requested intimate images, and sent pornographic material, with the aim of normalizing these behaviors. The victims reported that he showed repeated insistence in discussing sexual topics and in requesting explicit photographs

The individual also took advantage of his apparent position of authority as a sports representative to exert control over minors, who obeyed his instructions without question, even when they strayed from the strictly sporting realm. Investigators also detected the existence of fake profiles managed by the detainee to attract new victims, offering money in exchange for sexual acts.

During the course of the investigation, the Guardia Civil confirmed that the detainee had breached the judicial measures imposed after his first arrest. Despite the prohibition of engaging in activities related to minors, he organized a sports trip in which several of them participated. Once the facts were brought to the attention of the judicial authority, he was arrested again on November 12, 2025, and ordered to be immediately taken to Tahíche prison for violation of precautionary measures.

As part of this new operation, a home search was carried out, allowing officers to seize new items of interest, which are currently undergoing analysis. The seriousness of the acts is aggravated by the abuse of a position of trust and authority. The mere solicitation of minors for sexual purposes already constitutes a violation of their sexual freedom and integrity, which fully justifies criminal intervention.

The Operation "Fake Manager", with a total of 61 identified victims, underscores the importance of raising awareness among families and minors about the risks of so-called "grooming," which is the intentional manipulation by an adult to gain the trust of a minor for sexual abuse purposes. The danger posed by the detainee lay not only in his capacity for deception and persuasion but also in his reckless disregard for judicial authority by continuing his activities while under investigation. Thanks to the work carried out by the Civil Guard, it has been possible not only to neutralize a highly dangerous individual but also to provide the necessary evidence to offer victims the psychological and legal support they need after the prolonged manipulation they suffered.

The proceedings have been initiated by the Judicial Police Team of Vecindario and have been forwarded to the Court of Instruction on duty in San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
