Emerlan's special device deployed during the New Year's Eve celebration, in collaboration with the Security and Emergency Consortium, the Lanzarote Council, the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers and the City Councils of Teguise, Tinajo, Haría and Arrecife, guaranteed effective coverage during the multiple events organized on the island and in La Graciosa.
A highlight was the rescue on Las Conchas beach, in La Graciosa, of a 52-year-old man who was pulled from the water by people present at the scene, after experiencing difficulties while swimming. He was later evacuated by sea to Lanzarote for medical attention.
The operation included the deployment of eight ambulances and two Rapid Intervention Vehicles (VIR), as well as the mobilization of additional resources for the highlighted events. Among them, it is worth mentioning the coverage in La Graciosa and the celebration of the Bells at the Castillo de San José, broadcast by Mediaset.
The night passed with "relative tranquility, with a reduced number of incidents being recorded," according to Emerlan. Among them, a vehicle veering off the road on the LZ-30, which resulted in no injuries, and two health transfers to the hospital, which required the mobilization of medical resources. In addition, Emerlan acted in the refloating and towing of a boat. In the early hours of the day, a four-meter boat was refloated and towed thanks to the collaboration of the ES.11 vessel, belonging to the Government of the Canary Islands.
