A driver was injured in the early hours of this Saturday, March 7, after suffering a traffic accident in the vicinity of the Puerto del Carmen golf course, in the municipality of Tías.
As reported by the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, the alert was received at 05:10 hours through CECOES, warning of an incident occurred in the area of Camino de la Cañada, at the height of number 62.
Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, the driver was inside the vehicle after it had left the road and fallen down an embankment of approximately four meters. At the scene, agents of the Tías Local Police and paramedics from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) were already present, attending to the affected person.
The driver presented pain at a cervical level, although he was stable. In coordination with the health personnel, the firefighters proceeded to perform the safe extraction of the injured person from the vehicle and transferred him to the ambulance for his subsequent evacuation to the hospital.
In the operation participated fire crews from the Central Park and the South Park of the Consortium. Once the rescue was finished, the personnel proceeded to disconnect the vehicle's battery for safety before considering the service concluded.
In the intervention also collaborated the Local Police of Tías and the Canarian Emergency Service.
