Personnel from the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote and La Graciosa collaborated this Thursday with health services in the rescue of a person who was injured in a coastal area of Playa Blanca, in the municipality of Yaiza.
According to the Consortium, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) alerted to the presence of a person requiring assistance between Playa Blanca and Playa de la Cruz, providing the coordinates of their location. Two vehicles from the Consortium were dispatched to the site.
During the journey, the personnel confirmed that the coordinates actually corresponded to the area of Playa del Pozo. Likewise, they contacted a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), whose technicians communicated that they could not access the vehicle to the point where the affected person was located, so they remained in the Las Coloradas area.
To reach Playa del Pozo, the emergency teams had to break a padlock that prevented access to the site. Once there, they confirmed that the person presented pain and swelling in the left ankle.
The personnel proceeded to immobilize the injured limb and subsequently transferred the affected person to the point where the SUC ambulance was waiting. The health workers took charge of their assistance and subsequent transfer to a health center for a more exhaustive evaluation.
