The Emergency Consortium has suspended this midday the search for the girl who supposedly fell into the sea in the El Golfo area, as confirmed to La Voz by its manager Enrique Espinosa.

Espinosa has informed this outlet that the Civil Guard is investigating the facts to confirm or deny if any person has disappeared on the island. Furthermore, the manager of the Emergency Consortium has explained that firefighters have carried out coastal sweeps, but without success.

Likewise, he pointed out that it could be a "misunderstanding", since there is no abandoned car or belongings of the supposed person at the location, which is why it has been decided to suspend this search until there are certainties that a girl really disappeared.

As you may recall, the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) received a call around 5:45 p.m. this Monday, May 25, alerting that a person had suffered a wave impact on the coast of El Golfo, in the municipality of Yaiza. According to the information provided by the SUC, the person who gave the alert indicated that they had seen a girl who had suffered a wave impact in front of a restaurant and had not seen her come out of the water.

Following this, a search operation was activated in the area, and on Tuesday morning a helicopter had been dispatched to the area.
