The Rescue and Emergency Service in Lanzarote (Emerlan) has rescued a paraglider who crashed on La Cantería Beach, in Órzola. The Height Rescue Unit was activated this Tuesday at 1:35 p.m. to travel to the north of the island.
Together with the staff of the Canary Islands Emergency Service, they have attended to the injured person, a 50-year-old man of Austrian nationality, who was being assisted by the basic SUC ambulance.
The medical team assessed him, stabilized him and assisted him at the scene. Due to the difficulty of the terrain, the extraction was carried out with the perch stretcher to the beach parking lot, where the medicalized ambulance transferred him to the health center.
The SUC staff, the Local Police of Haría and the Civil Guard were coordinated in the rescue operation for the excellent coordination and teamwork.
