An 83-year-old man was rescued from the sea after spending an hour in the water unable to return to shore, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The incident occurred this Wednesday at approximately 5:28 p.m. near the Hotel San Antonio in Puerto del Carmen. After receiving the alert, a GES helicopter, Local Police, Civil Guard, Emerlan, and an SUC ambulance were dispatched.
The Emerlan vessel managed to rescue the octogenarian, who was exhausted and experiencing respiratory difficulties. After disembarking at the port of La Tiñosa, he was attended to by paramedics from the Canary Emergency Service, who transferred him to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
