The carcass of a Brahman bull has been found this Monday, September 28, in Caleta del Mero, on the north coast of Lanzarote, as reported to La Voz by councilman Marcos Lemes.
Once the animal's carcass was detected on the beach, both the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium were notified.
As explained to La Voz by the Consortium's manager, Enrique Espinosa, the corresponding protocol has been activated and it will be the Environment department who gives the go-ahead to remove the animal from the beach, which will probably be removed this Wednesday.
These types of findings are not unusual on the island. On several occasions, dead animals have been found washed ashore by the sea, some of which may have been thrown from boats after dying.
