A fire broke out on the afternoon of this Wednesday, May 20, in the Camino Hoya Limpia area, in Puerto del Carmen, mobilizing personnel from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium after receiving the alert from CECOES at 6:55 p.m.
A team was dispatched to the scene, locating upon arrival an organic waste container completely affected by the flames that incinerated it.
The firefighters immediately proceeded with extinction efforts using a water line, managing to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby elements.
Once the extinction tasks were completed and the area secured, the personnel reported the completion of the service to CECOES and later returned to base without incident.
Agents from the Guardia Civil and the Local Police of Tías also collaborated in the operation.
