Consternation in Mácher over the death of José Ismael Bonilla in an accident

Bonilla is the son of the well-known taxi driver from Tías, Genaro Bonilla, and a member of the town's Festival Committee.

A person dies after overturning their vehicle near Tías

The town of Mácher is dismayed by the death of neighbor José Ismael Bonilla in the early hours of this Sunday.

Bonilla is single and without children and with a younger brother than him, he worked in the maintenance service of the Open Mall Lanzarote Shopping Center, in Arrecife, as explained to La Voz, by people close to the family. Apparently, on Saturday afternoon he had gone to work in the afternoon shift.

The deceased is the son of the taxi driver from Tías, Genaro Bonilla, a historical member of the Festival Committee of the town of Mácher and also well known in the municipality.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:26 a.m. when 112 was alerted that a car had overturned, had left the road and was about 30 meters from it.

Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene, one with basic life support and another with medical support from the SUC, a doctor and a nurse from the Tías health center, the Emergency Consortium, the Civil Guard and Civil Protection.

Emergency resources upon arriving at the scene of the accident verified that there was no one inside the car and after searching the area, they located a person who had already died as they had injuries incompatible with life.

The Civil Guard has been in charge of instructing the corresponding procedures.
