A bus caught fire at noon this Friday in Playa Blanca. The incident took place shortly before 3:00 p.m. when the vehicle, with no one inside, began to burn. This is what La Voz has learned and has been confirmed by the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote.
The incident occurred on Avenida de Papagayo, in the tourist town of Playa Blanca, in the south of Lanzarote, near the Get You Holidays offices.
According to a witness told this newsroom, several explosions could be heard in the area. The vehicle belongs to the company Canary Shuttle, which is responsible for transporting tourists between Lanzarote Airport and the island's various tourist accommodations.
For the moment, firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote have traveled to the area.
The fire generated a large column of black smoke that could be seen from other points along the coast.
