The National Police of Arrecife has arrested one of the main cocaine distributors in Lanzarote. In total, the officers have arrested three people, two men and one woman, between 40 and 48 years old, with police records, as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, for dedicating themselves to drug distribution on the island.

The investigation began at the beginning of January, when the agents received an anonymous tip that warned of the presence in the capital of one of the main distributors of cocaine in Lanzarote.

In said information, the investigated was linked to a previous police action carried out in May 2025, in which an individual was arrested while transporting four kilograms of cocaine and one of heroin.

The agents in charge of the investigation, established a surveillance and monitoring device on the investigated person, in which it could be verified how this maintained contact with numerous people related to drug trafficking.

The morning of the events, a new anonymous telephone communication was received, alerting that that same day the investigated was going to stock up on a significant batch of cocaine, so the agents intensified surveillance on his home.

The investigators observed how the suspect was leaving the dwelling, and was making a journey in a third party's vehicle, adopting various security measures while they were driving.

Shortly after they returned again to the address, but this time the investigated person was carrying a heavy bag, at which point he was intercepted by the agents, who upon inspecting the interior of it located six bricks of cocaine with an approximate weight of seven kilograms.

Search of two homes and a premises

After the seizure of the narcotic substance, three judicial warrants for entry and search were requested for two homes and a commercial premises linked to those under investigation.

As a result of the searches, eleven kilograms of cocaine, 10,000 euros in cash and four vehicles were seized, one of them a high-end BMW, in which agents located part of the drug in a hidden compartment.

Once the police proceedings were completed, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority who decreed the immediate entry into prison for two of them.
