National Police agents have arrested a 34-year-old woman at Gran Canaria Airport as the alleged perpetrator of an attempted homicide crime after having stabbed a man in a tourist complex in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
The events took place on the afternoon of last March 24, when the agents were commissioned by the CIMACC 091 operational room to go to a tourist apartment in Maspalomas, where, according to the alert received, an assault with a bladed weapon had occurred.
Upon their arrival, the police interviewed the occupants of the property, who stated that, during the morning, a discussion had occurred in the context of a meeting in which alcohol had been consumed.
In the course of it, a woman, friend of the couple, would have attacked a male in a surprising way, inflicting several stab wounds on him in the back and in a leg.
After the attack, the alleged perpetrator fled the scene without providing assistance to the victim, to go to Gran Canaria Airport with the intention of taking the first available flight bound for Germany, since she was on the island on vacation.
Given the evident risk of escape, the agents immediately activated a search device to be able to locate the aggressor before abandoning the island, being located and intercepted in the boarding area, proceeding to her arrest just before she managed to leave the island.
The victim was attended to by the health services at the scene of the events and subsequently transferred to the hospital to be treated for the injuries suffered, her prognosis being favorable
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the authority for an alleged crime of attempted homicide.
