Arrested in the Canary Islands for scamming more than a dozen people with the false rental of a room

A 21-year-old woman has been arrested for offering the rental of a room in different Spanish cities and asking for deposits between 350 and 600 euros

Agents of the National Police in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, arrested on July 4, a 21-year-old woman, as the alleged perpetrator of multiple fraud crimes.

The investigators became aware of the facts, through several complaints filed, in which reference was made to a woman who used the modus operandi consisting of, offering through websites dedicated to the real estate sector and on social networks, the rental of a room in different cities of the national territory such as Madrid, Mallorca or Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, among others, and requesting a deposit from the victims ranging between 350 and 600 euros and subsequently, after receiving the payment, cutting off communications and not returning the money.

The agents, after carrying out the necessary investigations, managed to identify the suspect, who had four judicial claims for arrest and appearance by several courts.

In addition, she was able to be linked to another 12 criminal acts of the same nature, committed in different parts of the Spanish geography in which the detainee usurped the identities of third parties to try to disassociate herself from the investigated facts.

During the investigation it was possible to prove that the young woman had also committed scams for the sale of tickets for concerts through mobile applications for which she charged an approximate price of 30 euros.

The investigated, who traveled in an itinerant manner through different points of the national territory in order to hide and hinder the work of locating by the agents, was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority once the police proceedings were completed.
