The Civil Guard of Lanzarote arrested on August 29 a person accused of a crime of Drug Trafficking, for carrying different types of narcotics during the festivities in the town of Caleta de Famara

This operation was carried out within the framework of security and prevention maintained in different parts of the island, with the aim of reinforcing surveillance in areas of special affluence.

The Citizen Security Patrol of the Costa Teguise Company was carrying out surveillance work on foot through the main streets of the municipality, during the tour, the police officers observed a male whose behavior immediately caught their attention, upon noticing the presence of the agents, he adopted a visibly nervous and elusive attitude.

From the first moment, the agents noticed the suspicious attitude of an individual who was in the public thoroughfare. Faced with this situation, they proceeded to identify him, which later allowed the intervention of the substances that the suspect was carrying.

During the search, the agents seized a total of 20 bags containing what, according to the first assessments, would be cocaine.

Likewise, several portions that presumably correspond to hashish were seized, in addition to a sealed bag containing hallucinogenic mushrooms and several blue pills.

The proceedings together with the detainee were placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court No. 2 of Arrecife.
