Vandalic act against a mural

The Local Police of Tías has initiated proceedings against a community citizen for the commission of an alleged crime of damage and xenophobia. The events occurred after the investigated person applied spray on an allegorical mural to immigration that had been exhibited in municipal facilities, "spoiling its artistic content in its entirety," according to a statement from the town hall.

The mural, called Closing the circle, was designed by the artist JUIN for the exterior of the Conecta Tías headquarters in Puerto del Carmen and inaugurated on June 14 after collective work with people from the neighborhood and migrants with an objective of reflection and union.
