The National Police have arrested a 58-year-old Spanish man for allegedly attacking his ex-partner with a knife at her home in Arrecife.
According to sources close to the investigation consulted by La Voz, the aggressor allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck, causing a serious injury that caused her to lose a significant amount of blood. The events took place around 2:00 p.m. in a house near El Reducto.
The 55-year-old woman, a native of Arrecife, was immediately transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital, where she underwent surgery and remains in serious condition.
The alleged aggressor was arrested almost immediately by the agents while investigations continue to clarify the facts. According to the same sources, the victim had not filed previous complaints.
It so happens that this new case of gender violence coincides with the eve of March 8, International Women's Day, which has generated greater shock in society.
